Jack87 news today, Former Barcelona and Liverpool star Luis Suarez announced on Tuesday that he had reached a “preliminary agreement” to return to his first club’s national team three months before the World Cup in Qatar.

Striker Suarez, 35, left Atletico Madrid at the end of last season and is looking for a new club.

He is Uruguay’s all-time top scorer and will play in his fourth World Cup.

“First of all, I would like to thank you for the deep affection you have shown to me and my family over the past few days,” Suarez said in a video posted on his social media account.

That, he said, made “the possibility of rejecting a return to action for the national team impossible, and we have a preliminary agreement with the club.”

National president Jose Fuentes thanked fans for launching a massive social media campaign in an attempt to persuade Suarez to return.

“We still have to adjust some small details…(but) he will definitely arrive next week,” Fuentes said.

Suarez started his career with the national team, making his debut in May 2005 at the age of 18.

After a full season, he moved to Groningen in the Netherlands and then to Ajax a year later.

There, he caught the attention of Liverpool, and after three and a half seasons in England, he moved to Barcelona for more than 80 million euros.

He enjoyed bk8 in his most successful spell in Catalonia, winning four Spanish league titles and the Champions League in 2015, before winning La Liga with Atletico in 2021.

He gained notoriety at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, when he took his last breather in the quarter-final against Ghana, preventing the Black Stars from becoming the first African nation to reach the World Cup semi-finals.

Suarez was sent off for an intentional handball, but Uruguay survived the ensuing penalty kick before advancing on penalties.

Four years later, in Brazil, he was humiliated for biting Italy’s Chiellini, for which he received a record nine-match ban from world football’s governing body FIFA – the third time he has bitten an opposing player.

He will sign a three-month contract with the national team to play in Uruguay’s Clausura game while preparing for the World Cup in Qatar from February 21 to December 18.asianbookie

Suarez added: “The details will be hammered out in the next few hours and we hope to reach an agreement that we all want, that we can all make the most of this new phase and meet in the next few days.”
